Looks yummy!
Perfect for a Christmas Brunch
Looking for an easy and festive addition to your holiday brunch menu? This gluten-free biscuit recipe is just the thing! Inspired by my Mom's vintage Bisquick Recipe Book, I used gluten-free Bisquick mix, but you can substitute it with any store-bought or homemade scone mix. I like the ease of using a packaged mix.
For this recipe, I added grated cheese, dried basil, onion, and garlic powder for a savoury twist. If you prefer something sweet, omit the savory ingredients and add sugar instead. Brushing the sweet baked biscuits with melted butter and sugar gives them a delightful holiday sparkle.
A beloved vintage Bisquick cookbook!
My Mom's old Bisquick cookbook is a treasure trove of ideas. I just love vintage recipe books! How about you?
Inspired by this recipe from the Bisquick Cookbook.
When I stumbled upon this Christmas biscuit recipe in the cookbook, I knew I had to adapt it with gluten-free Bisquick. The results? Delicious!
The recipe on the gluten-free Bisquick box was a great starting point!
The original recipe lacked shortening and eggs. Does anyone know if old Bisquick contained dried eggs? I added both to enhance the flavour and texture of my version.

Ready for the oven!
Here is what the Christmas tree biscuit shape should look like. I don't like rolling dough. I hate cleaning up the mess, so if I can I prefer to make the biscuits by hand.

Once baked, let the biscuits cool and arrange them as a centerpiece. The Bisquick cook book suggests forming the foil around the cooled tree as a decoration. Decorate with cherry tomatoes and basil for a festive presentation.
